Environmentally focused car rental brand Green Motion has announced the latest addition to their network - Green Motion South Africa - continuing its expansion across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Green Motion South Africa was acquired by local entrepreneurs Mark and Brian Hartmann who currently operate an independent car rental brand in the country. Inspired by Green Motion's success in countries such as Kenya and Morocco, the team acquired the rights for the Green Motion brand in order to pursue their objective of fully developing the country with the support of an international brand.
Green Motion Founder & CEO Richard Lowden said, "This is another big step in the development of the Green Motion brand globally. South Africa is an extremely important country for the expansion of the brand across the African continent, and we are delighted to bring our environmentally focused vehicle rental concept as well as our commitment to the very best in customer service to this beautiful part of the world. "
Richard continued, "Despite the current climate with international travel being hugely impacted by the pandemic, the Green Motion team are forging ahead with the opening of this exciting destination. We are absolutely confident that they are best placed to support domestic travelers within South Africa both for essential journeys as well as business and leisure customers once restrictions are lifted, and of course cater for international business and leisure customers as soon as restrictions are lifted and international travel picks back up later in the year."
Green Motion South Africa will also be offering the Drive & Go contactless car rental service powered by Move Mee at all of their destinations, giving customers a true contactless car rental option for post-pandemic personal transport.
